Very true. It really depends on a number of secondary issues that can result in
either minimal difficulty right up to complete unusability.

On my OS X Catalina system here, I cannot use safari at all with amazon’s
website. They have a web dialogu that completely steals focus, won’t allow it
to be bypassed and only gives you two working links, until you click on them,
then the browser crashes hard. I have much better luck with chrome.

Now, on the iOS app on my iPhone Se3, they changed a lot of the layout so that
I have to actually scroll below the usual footer items in order to see the
items I searched for or are in the process of purchasing. Some parts of the app
don’t work very well, while others work nicely (and yes, I turned off screen
recognition because it caused amazon to crash right out of active memory).

Also, as I don’t have an android device or even a windows laptop, I have no way
to tell how bad the problem is with accessibility on any other platform.
Btw, I am seriously going to dig up the snail mail address for amazon and send
a strongly worded demand letter to their legal dept stating that they are
required under various federal laws (in specific, the ADA of 1990 section 508
as well as the 1973 rehabilitation act) as they are a public entered virtual
shopping mall (and as recent SCOTUS cases show, even an online vendor can be
treated exactly the same as a brick and mortar version.
