Hey Pete, Not Brad, but I thought I would weigh in. This sounds a lot like the issue I had on my iPhone 14 Pro when I upgraded to iOS 18. For me it resolved once I logged in for the first time. For me at least, that has bypassed that from the start. If that does not work, then double tap anywhere on the screen and that should take you to the next window.
