Hi Bryan, and all I am currently managing a studio for a bigger group, and have personally financed the iphone dev cell, with sighted developers who work with me in constructing the first applications commercial and non-commercial for the iphone and other iterations of the same platform.
I have the advantage that our operations in 3D alone allows us to be autonomous and finance other activities, such as the iphone cell. The idea of the audio game has been spuurred a while back now and it only keeps growing in complexity and realization. I do not believe that our first audio game will be commercial as i wish blind people to be able to test it out, so we can collect the thoughts of everyone, perfect the audio-haptic interfacing as well as true gameplay, while omitting those aspects which might not actually be of real value design wise. So we have a two-throng business model where the commercial side nurtures the developemental side, whilst using both ressources to create viable products for our current clients. I myself am blind, but having been a 3D professional for over 10 years before my accident, i know exactly what i am talking about in terms of 3D space, physics in game and game developement. This is a rather private adventure which has been accepted among people in my group, and so i am trying to lead the example (at least in this country) over the possibilities of games using audio only, for entertainment, education and general aptitude boosters. Sorry for this long post, but i am here to stay and try to get the full developement process going for as long as ressources permit it, which i think will be self-sustainable for many reasons, mostly because since my arrival over here i have strived to develop a viable 3D production house, and now branching out with the tools and knowledge we have.
