Hey list,

I've looked deeper into the unity 3D engine and it's audio capabilities, and
with my team have thought up a game in multiplayer mode for the iphone which
pits sighted players against blind players, whereas the latter will use full 3D
audio to move and interact around. They will have augmented powers in audio
form which allows them to hear sighted players move farther away than the
sighted do. We were also thinking about magic spells for the blind players and
a full control system with inventory, barter system, dialogue system and using
an acapella voice, one of the british male ones, for the narrative and object
information.

This engine is in Java form when scripting links between components, but we're
looking into the feasibility of voice over integration within unity for
labelling purposes.

I think that by increasing CPU usage on an audio only game experience, we can
bump up the audio quality as well as positional relations/effects modulation on
the fly without taxing the system too much. Think two versions of the app. The
visual one and the audio only one.

This is still at concept stage, but tests are already undergoing to make this a
reality.

If anyone is interested please do let me know, as i will require feedback on
the first builds of the game.

Cheers
