Hi Tim,
I am finally moving the iTunes library to an external drive. Do you
know what the command is when launching iTunes in this situation?

Hi,
Similar to Jonathan’s reply, what I’ve done is move the entire iTunes folder
from your Home directory to the other location. So, cmd-c the
/Users/My_Username/Music/iTunes folder and cmd-option-v it to whereever you
wish to put it, such as an external HD with more space. Now, when you go to
open iTunes, it will say that it can’t find the iTunes Library at which time
you locate the copied iTunes folder from the dialog and click Choose. This
will automatically fix everything and life will be good. The only concern, is
that you must have the external source turned on when starting iTunes,
otherwise, it will bring up this dialog again.
HTH.

You need to start iTunes while holding down the option key. I believe you can
use commandoption-downArrow todo this, but I am not positive right now. Both
iTunes and iPhoto will prompt you for a library location when double clicking
the mouse while holding down the option key. I expect if you completely remove
your iTunes library folder it will also prompt you for the location of the
library.
Are there the ability to do this from the dock contextual menu also?
