of the messages of this list, similarly to what happens with other mailing lists. Do you agree that it would be useful?

Not useful for me - just senseless clutter. It makes the
subject column harder to read, and the interesting part
will be cut off more often due to the longer line.

I agree, I have suggested it before, but the motion was not very well
met. It is true that most mail clients have the capability to filter the
BCC etc. fields, and one can filter all your lyx-users mail into a
separate folder.

Yes, that's the way to go.

My employer however, forces us to use the "Groupwise
Mail Client", arguably one of the crappiest pieces of software ever
written. I can only filter the "To" field, and if there are multiple
recipients, and "lyx-users" is not first, the filter fails. This leaves
me with half my lyx-users mail in the "Inbox" and the other in the "lyx"
folder.

Stupid employer then. Perhaps you should explain all the time
wasted on manual filtering, that another client does automatically
for you? Even if your'e "nice" and don't read the lyx list on company time,
the messages still get in your way until sorted.
I can understand that they don't want to buy another client,
but why prevent people from using free ones? Silly.

Anyways, I agree that this would be usefull. It is not important enough
for me to spend money on, but maybe if you begged/bribed the list
maintainer he/she would add this feature.

Perhaps begging/talking to this employer's IT staff might work too. :-/
