- After installing LyX I'm not able to view PDF's because there is no default viewer for PDF although GSview is installed.
GSview asks you whether it should be the default viewer for PDF.
- The default image editor is always MS Paint, no matter if you have installed the Gimp or Photoshop. And with Paint you can't really edit images.
They also allow you to associate themselves with certain file extensions. In addition, Windows provides a nice interface to do so. Detection based on application name will never with all programs.
Sorry that I have not read your patch.. but executable names are irrelevant under windows now.
They are only relevant for Cygwin. Joost
