If I where you I would simply tell them that from now on the windows file associations are used, and that they may need to fix them. I would be surprised if users would not get used to that very quickly. >> Nope. That is a valid point, but I would prefer a different solution: Use a file dialog for specifying viewers, editors and converters. Advanced users would not need it and can directly type in the name of a program that is in the path, but others can use the file dialog to pick a suitable program. Georg
