Could you place them somewhere so that people find it when they compile a win version of 1.3.7 (for Angus, Michael)?>

A better solution would be to fix this inside LyX. The on-screen translations will be wrong with the changed mo files.

I don't understand this. With the current .mo-files the menus and the translations in the text (like the phrase "Figure:") are wrong. With the .mo-files in CP the menus appear correctly and the translations in the text are still wrongly displayed. The problem is that the menu and the text window encoding is different. (The text encoding is always ISO). This is a well known problem and the reason why it is still impossible to enter the euro "€" sign, see

At last the status of my installer: Should I build a new version containing 1.3.7 and you'll upload it to ftp.lyx.org? Do we provide LyX for Windows officially only with Angus' installer?

We should IMHO. Your installer tries to be too clever for my taste (fiddling with personal preferences, removing programs on deinstallation). I do see that this is useful for many people, but I would be very upset if an official installer would change my preferences, so lets be conservative here.

The installer don't change your preferences anymore. This was only the case in older versions (0.1 - 0.3 I think). The uninstaller does only remove programs that were installed together with LyX.

But anyway, I can understand your decision but is it possible to upload it to ftp.lyx.org? I currently have the problem that uploads to the ftp server of my project hoster isn't available for weeks now. (I can't recommend berlios.de as project hoster because they don't give support and bugs won't be fixed.)

Would you at least mention the new installer in the announcement?

Why not? Something like "An alternative installer for windows is available at bla bla." And then a short decsription of the differences in one or two sentences.

That would be cool.
