Personally I'm rather uneasy about LyX shipping a layout file that
works only with the latest version of the modernCV class. The trouble
is that Linux distros usually lag for ages before shipping updated
versions to their users (and on Linux by default users cannot easily
update individual classes). Shipping the latest one and the old, one
for compatibility, should work though.
