We try to be conservative and the disc space is not a constraint. FWIW I would suggest to drop bzip2 and add lzma to the set. lzma has usually a best compression rate while it is faster to compress and decompress. > * file NEWS seems to be no more used, what about move to attic? As Jürgen said, we use to update it to the latest used in the stable branch. Since it is low maintenance I suggest to leave it.
