have you tried it? currently i don't see howto cause toggle-like behaviour
through math-insert \mathbf. ideas?

imho two more issues which should be done:
- RELEASE-NOTES should note this change
- provide some way how ctrl+b works as in 1.5, otherwise i would call this
  regression.
