You misunderstood Jürgen. The problem is that the 0x03xx characters are no math characters but real Greek ones. That mean they must be takes as they are. You can already copy them directly into your LyX file. Mark the characters as Greek via the text style dialog as you normally do also for all other languages and that's it. When you then still have problems, you have to install proper Greek support for your LaTeX-distribution.
If you have problems in doing this, I can create a new Wiki-page how to set up Greek properly for LaTeX-distros.
