I think you completely misunderstood what Jean-Marc wrote. This is not about blaming newcomers for past faults, this is about preventing to do the same faults again. And I see this danger, too. For example I consider your longtable caption changes from yesterday exactly that kind of hack that we tried to remove over the last years and that should at least have been discussed before it went in. I would like to add my views in more details (also to other statements made in this thread), but am swamped with work during the next couple of days, so this has to wait. Georg
