This is definitely not a complaint about you work on multi-windows.
While I am not sure it is ready, the steps you took to get there are
all welcome and go in the right direction as far as I can see.

So I hereby acknowledge your hard work in both qt4 and metrics
computations (among other things) and want to thank you for it.
Seriously. I am not kidding.

My point was just to point out that coding lots of things fast has not
always been a good metrics for quality in LyX' history (answering to
Peter's assertion--I paraphrase--that we had not been used to see more
than two commits a week before last year). It is not my fault that the
feature that broke the original 1.1 branch was multi-windows
support... Actually, the old CHANGES file hints that we did also
completely rewrite the kernel data structure at the same time :)
