I don't want that. After all, it might be the right solution for the moment, or I might be the only one who considers that a hack. What I did not like was that it went in without discussion, but since I don't have the time right now to investigate this I am not in a position to remove it. And please note that my post was not intended at all as personal attack (which you might have thought it was, I am not sure). I took the longtable caption change as an example, simply because it was the last one I saw, but I could as well have taken any other change, for example the name of EmbeddedObjects.lyx ping pong by Michael and Uwe.
