I predict that mailing lists, and mail behaviour in general, will simply need to adapt to SPF, DKIM and DMARC as the emerging means of establishing the authenticity of messages with a certain degree of assurance. What this means is that (provided the sending MTA only serves authorized users) there is reasonable assurance that the sender identified in the "From" header is the actual sender, and that certain header fields and the body have not been modified in transit. > Yes. Widespread use of DMARC will result in changes to well established conventions. I don't personally object to having the list server rewrite the "From" field and add a "Reply-to" header that designates the original sender; but some people have needs which differ from mine, and for them it can be an inconvenience.
