Rather, for making pharmaceutical companies to have the same level of
profits without doing any change in their business. Which is not exactly
the same.
Generally, it is always rather dangerous when the state messes with things
like this. What it basically says is that one kind of the citizen is
preferable, by the state's vision, to the other. While this can be wanted
and useful - like, to give tax extempt or exclusive rights or whatever
else to people researching some important technology, or generally to
inventors versus other kind of work - this power is too easy to abuse and
rather hard to complement in the accordace of the current society needs.
What happens when it is abused we see with current software patents and
DMCA situation.
