Stop him somebody my sides are hurting with laughter.

You cannot be seriously suggesting that the captain of our ignominious ODI
series against Sri Lanka last summer would be your first choice captain, can
you?
We were whitewashed by Sri Lanka 5-0 IN England with Strauss as captain.
Wisden gave him 5/10 for that series and reported that 'he didn't inspire
with his ability to, well, inspire. As the England attack was dispatched
around the country he often just wandered up from mid-off with a shrug of
the shoulders. Stopping Jayasuriya is never easy, but positive body language
goes a long way. Not helped by a personal lack of runs - again a few starts
but nothing to soften the blow of five thumping defeats.'

Strauss was also captain against the mighty Ireland in Belfast last June
where IIRC he scored a humongous 4!

So try again with a serious suggestion this time, Rich.

Let us not forget your false prophecies Rich: -

False prophecy 1) Blackwell will get us relegated - WRONG, he never did

False prophecy 2) Anyone would be better than Blackwell - WRONG, they quite
clearly aren't

False Prophecy 3) If this is not true I'll show my arse on the pitch on the
first match of the season - WRONG, you never did!

False Prophecy 4) I can't see Hulse doing owt for a struggling team in the
Prem - WRONG, he's their top scorer despite his horrific injury in March.

False Prophecy 5) Watford 1 Leeds 2 (10.5.06) - So VERY VERY WRONG!!

Hell fire, that's nearly semi pro innit - not!
That you're entitled to an opinion is not at question - the validity of your
opinion was the question.
How much cricket do you watch?
Are you a Yorkshire member?
Similar criteria are required by you for people to have valid opinions on
football and Leeds United so surely they are required criteria for you to
have an opinion on cricket too.

Like you'd know, I suppose being the oracle on all things sporting means you
could recognise a future international cricketer in the bud.

Oh, and Rich - I've got 2 words for you, the second one is off and the first
one begins with f.
