>>That'll be THE Paul Collingwood who should be Englands one day captain then ;-)<< Splitting the captaincy doesn't work. England tried it and they won't try it again. Last time England did this (when Vaughan got the one-day captaincy and Hussain retained the test captaincy) it led to confusion and muddled thinking - the same players were working for two very different captains with different styles. Hussain says he felt undermined by the fact that the players preferred Vaughan's more laid-back style to his blood'n'thunder approach. If splitting the captaincy was a good idea, why do no other teams do it? As for Collingwood, I can't seriously believe you'd consider him as captain. He has no captaincy experience at all, and he aleady has a heavy workload (batsman, bowler, and our best fielder). The only alternative right now to Vaughan is Flintoff - and the pedalo incident showed a woeful lack of leadership qualities off the field. Mark
