Why does it take 3 years to build a team ? This is something that we
all bought but I never understood why. Boothroyd did it in one.
Its obvious to me that Boothroyd has no respect for Blackwell as a coach
or manager as a result of working with him. His insider opinion of
Blackwell was ably illustrated by his and his pre match comment of "I have
seen Kevin Blackwell under pressure". This most definitely puts him in the
Blackwell OUT camp.
Boothroyd seemingly saw a way out the division and got the job done. The
attractiveness of those tactics is open to debate and if they are
maintained in the Premiership I'd not hesitate in backing them to come
straight back down. I suspect though that he is not that stupid. Meanwhile
we are saddled with Blackwell for another 3 years or a sizable payoff to
sit alongside all the others.
Over the last 12 games we have looked absolutely awful. That is not
getting better.
Again mirrored in Boothroyd's pressure comment above. For the last quarter
of the season Blackwell has been completely exposed as clueless. The man
has no plan. no tactics, is absolutely no judge of a players capabilities
or talent and certainly can't pick a functional team. He's had plenty of
opportunity to demonstrate that his qualifications mean something other
than jackshit and quite honestly he has failed. For me this was fully
revealed in his pre match comment of "God willing we'll win". The man was
beaten before kick off.
I am not knocking KB. But I really cannot decide whether this guy is
[EMAIL PROTECTED] big con man or the messiah in waiting.
I guess you can tell which camp I sit in.
