This is exactly what I mean by having lost the plot. You don't save the game
by ruining it. Booking Lehman and giving the goal would have acheived your
objective above, and the game would have continued 11 against 11 - just as
it is intended to be. From what I saw, the sending off didn't deter the
other players anyway. Sending off should be a last resort. Anything else
ignores the fact that the people watching are what it is all about. Not FIFA
and not the referee.
I do disagree wtih your wording in saying the the REF.
unbalanced the game.lehman is responsible for his doings, not the ref.
The ref had a choice. He chose to penalise both teams !!
How can you argue that sending a player off when you simply don't have to is
not unbalancing a game ?
