I do this always on the TDA series, however we set the time between dial tone from 1 to 0, then we program the port to pre-dial 9. You also must be sure that this port in not in a incoming ring group.
We have problems occasionally with credit card machines. Sometimes we must program them to "blind dial", that is not check for dial tone. As a note, we are installing KX-TDA30's in a chain of 18 restaurants, pulling out Nortel, Panther, and other systems. We have cut down their line count by having all credit card and interact devices access CO lines through the KSU. Their payback, when the extra lines are cancelled, 13 to 16 months - and they get a new system. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bob Bruskin Sent: Wednesday, March 23, 2005 9:17 PM To: kxt help Subject: KX-T: KX-TA624 Credit Card Swiper on Extension Customer had Credit Card Swiper dedicated to his Line 1. Had to wait for the line to be free to use the swiper. I suggested [and have successfully accomplished this on many installations] connecting the swiper to an extension port so that it picks up any free line [he has two]. I have reprogrammed the swiper to dial 9, pause, then dial the 1-800 number. Problem: When it picks up line 1, the process goes right through. If line 1 is busy and it picks up line 2, the call does not go through. I have monitored the line with a butt set and confirmed that it dials the 9, gets the outside line, and dials. the modem at the other end does not answer when the call goes out on Line 2, yet it is fine on line 1. Both lines are clear and if I use a butt set, I can complete calls through the back of the swiper on either line. There are no restrictions programmed for either line that I could find. I did not do the original install.. Any thoughts?
