When you go off on line 2 is there a stutter dial tone?
On what line is the DSL on if any?
Does the swiper work on each line correctly if you put straight? On both
lines?

Subject: KX-T: KX-TA624 Credit Card Swiper on Extension

Customer had Credit Card Swiper dedicated to his Line 1. Had to wait for
the line to be free to use the swiper. I suggested [and have successfully
accomplished this on many installations] connecting the swiper to an
extension port so that it picks up any free line [he has two]. I have
reprogrammed the swiper to dial 9, pause, then dial the 1-800 number.

Problem: When it picks up line 1, the process goes right through. If line
1 is busy and it picks up line 2, the call does not go through. I have
monitored the line with a butt set and confirmed that it dials the 9, gets
the outside line, and dials. the modem at the other end does not answer
when the call goes out on Line 2, yet it is fine on line 1. Both lines are
clear and if I use a butt set, I can complete calls through the back of the
swiper on either line. There are no restrictions programmed for either line
that I could find. I did not do the original install..

Any thoughts?
