Read this again Jamie. There are no new plans available from Jeanette.
My take is that Jeanette is in her 90's now and she's done. Apparently,
no one in the family is interested in the business. I'm not sure why
Jeanette wouldn't sell the rights or transfer them to a foundation.
Maybe after her demise, the family will do something along those lines.

Buy a set of plans from Jeanette like the rest of us have. Support

To eliminate any confusion I'll state it one more time, directly from
Jeanette rand on 1/16/2022.
No one, including Steve Glover, is authorized by Rand Robinson
(Jeanette Rand) to sell plans created by Rand Robinson to the KR
series of aircraft. Steve Glover never owned the "copyright" but was
authorized by Rand to sell copies of plans produced by Rand. That is
no longer the case. Jeanette's words were "the plans are off the
market" and I'm retired". Jeanette has no problem with Steve selling
parts or supporting the design in any way other than selling plans.
While we may personally agree or disagree with that decision it is the
reality we face. While I personally don't see a great liability issue
given 50 years of KR crashes, deaths, and injuries, without any
lawsuits that I'm aware of, it's not my bank account they would come
after. I suspect it wouldn't be hard to prove that any KR flying was
not "built to plans" to avoid liability but again, I have no skin in
the game.
On the other hand I personally see no legal issues in someone selling
an unused set of KR plans. You did not sign away your right of
transfer of personal property and I can sell my entire KR, built to
plans, sort of, if I chose.
Finally, I don't expect to see any legal issues, other than someone
producing and selling new sets of plans, with anything that anyone
does with unused plans they own. What legal issue is being violated?
IMHO......
I also don't see a problem with someone producing an entirely new set
of plans to a new aircraft incorporating all the changes and calling
it a Gismo 2 and selling those plans. All aircraft have the same
parts, wings, tail, fuselage, spars, landing gear, engines, etc., it's
just the proportions that change. Any substantial change makes it a
new and different aircraft.
Value my "opinions" by the price you paid for them.
