The perimeter of the crank flange is stamped with TC and a very clear hash 
mark.  That mark should align with the seam in the case below the crankshaft 
(TC stamp should be facing down) to locate TDC on #1 & #2 cylinders.  If memory 
serves correctly (which it may not), mine also has timing hash marks stamped 
into the perimeter of the crank flange.  You index them against the case seam 
below the crank flange.  It's been a number of years since I've looked since I 
have Pmags and set the timing with the engine at TDC.
