There are a lot of things we can do to improve the crashworthiness of our
airplanes, and it certainly behooves us to do so. Surviving a crash and then
burning on the ground is a pretty terrible thing.

Rollover and fire were my two main concerns when building my KR, even
rated above weight and performance.?? I have a fixed windshield with
plywood bow, a turtle deck bow, and all fuel in the outer wing panels.??
I also have a knock out passenger side window exit.?? I hope I never have
a reason to test it.?? I saw a father/son crash a T18 at Oshkosh years
ago, went upside down and burn to death in front of thousands of
spectators.?? I had plenty of motivation from witnessing that event.
