Don't take my attempt at humor as opposition to your ideas. If you've ever attended a KR Gathering you'll realize that KR builders are always looking for options and that there are no two KR's alike. I have no idea if cedar qualifies as a good wood for aircraft construction or not. In my limited experience with cedar I seem to recall it splinters quite easily, could be wrong. With that in mind, any changes a builder makes should be fully analyzed to determine how it will affect the overall structure. Go with what makes you feel good..............
