If the end of your wing stub is open, it will slide out through that opening
after you disconnect everything from the spring bar. Un-bolt everything from
the spring bar, everything. Then you just have to slide it out of the opening
at the end of the wing stub on either end. If there is no opening, make one as
suggested in another post.

I have done this on two different KR2 and it is really quite simple.

To install the conventional gear, which is what I did, use the opening that the
gear came down through in the stub wing and a cutout in the D-Section fo the
stub wing, as necessary to drill the holes and insert the bolts. It is fairly
easy to patch this up when finished.

I have been searching the net, maybe I missed something.

What is the least invasive way to remove the spring on the retract gear set
up?

I am switching out to the Deihl conventional gear, but don't want to tear
out the entire wing stub.

Is it best to cut the bar out in pieces or remove the bottom of the few ribs
on the stub?

Thank you,

Clay
