That is one I am aware of as well, older plans say a stall of  42 mph but the
newer sets say 52 mph and the upper permissable is 51mph.  Some claim stalls
in the 45 to 50 range so it may be achievable and there is the possibility of
leading edge slats or longer wings but that would be a bigger deal.  I know
that at one time Ken Rand had come up with what he called a KR1 Motor-Glider
that had long wings.

I bought my original set of plans from him personally in 1976 and then turned
them in for a set of updates in '81 or '82 before he was killed.  I lived in
Orange County, CA at the time not far from his office in Huntington Beach and
even visited him at his house and looked at his original KR2.
