Don, Use the aluminum pipe before installing the caps to cut through the foam or plastic pipe is cheap. Get a piece to cut through the foam and then install the aluminum. A vented cap, if you can find one, might eliminate the venting issue. I fabricated my own vented caps. They're not perfect but work well enough that I'm not going to mess with them. Larry
