Raymond,

I think the key word here is okay. Yes, it is OK. I say this from
experience, but your results WILL vary.

I had 135 hours in 150s when I had my first lesson in a Citabria. I took a
5 hour aerobatic course, but never did too much with landings. Somewhere
around 150 hours, I was fortunate enough to get some time in a Champ with a
friend of mine. Still, this was nothing like a KR. At that time, I was
taxi testing my KR. At 155 hours, I took my first flight in my KR. It
still had the retract gear, and soon after that, I had to change to the
fixed gear, because the retract kept retracting on landing.

I can tell you that those first hours, were very tense. However, if the
gear had been right from the beginning, I think it would have gone much
easier. I now have 185 hours in conventional gear, almost all of it in the
KR. It is my opinion that once you get used to it, the KR is a very easy
plane to fly, but you have to fly it all the time.

Take the advise of the Netters and get some time in one before you fly, but
don't let it scare you off.
