A naked RTFM is not terribly helpful - an RTFM which consists solely 
of 'oh, just read the fscking manual'.

An RTFM of the sort you described 'man whatever has the information 
you need, in the section about such-and-so' is helpful, and there's 
nothing wrong with THAT sort. In fact, there's everything right with
it.
