That stinks.  But I know the feeling.  For me, it has nothing to do with 
gender.  It's from the tone of voice...That vacant "I'm reading from a 
script" kind of voice...

"Sir, load the cd-rom into the cd-rom drive"

"But, my computer's on fire"

"Sir, could you please load the cd-rom into the cd-rom drive..."
