have you considered the possibility that he/she might be an 11 year old kid, not aware of not just netiquettes but even how to interact with people outside his/her age group? I don't know Muskan, and sometimes have difficulty in believing that he/she is a kid. But I somewhat personnally know of 10-12 year old kids posting to this list. Hell, they are incoherent to say the least in expressing themselves to adults in *normal lives*. I refuse to ignore that possibility however small it is. We should definitely be more forgiving to such audiences, don't you think? > abt you, but there might be ppl on this list who are on a dialup and using > pop3 to retrieve this list, and on a dialup if u have to receive 3-4 useless > mails on a slow connection, things start getting irritating after some time > esp if they are slightly big mails. Oh, people with such problems should do as you have done - have killfiles. I personally have a small killfile containing email addresses of "beloved" friends who consider me so close that they just *have to* share their dailyjoke.com emails with me, every day. ;) > Also this is not the first time that we have been facing this muskan > problem, and i don't think that it wud be the last time if he is not banned > from this list. A more diplomatic and peaceful solution to mailing list problems is to just ignore the mails from the sender. Works for most mailing-list problems anyway. Responding to mails that ppl don't agree with prolongs the discussion, causes heartaches/headaches, wastes bandwidth, and in general spreads a bad feeling around. > PS2: I hav another suggestion to reduce the bw taken up by this list.. > everyone pls delete all unneeded text from any msg that u reply to. esp > things like the mailing list signature that u c below... since that is > automatically added to each msg.. I second this too. BTW, have you seen the overhead of mails to mailing lists nowadays??? A typical message has about 75% header and about 20% original matter. A typical mailing list manager is adding so many non-critical data to every message sent out.
