Hi all, IMHO most of the curriculum offered as FOSS is counter productive based on a outdated syllabus. It didnt help in moving people to Linux and for even people who were introduced to Linux it was tiresome.
In this regard Government of tamilnadu has introduced some basic linux course as part of 11 , 12 class computer science. What i learnt from some of the students studying it they havent seen a linux machine. They just have a perception that linux is a black console where you can execute commands such as ls ,cp. With the minimal thrust given by school in teaching computers (as they are not counted for the cut off) it is better to be ignorant rather than misinformed :) . P.S :I managed to show them my personal Linux box to few students more than that the faculty are also ignorant in this regard .
