I think that over the years the single “call”, by growing in audience, ends up
serving too many purposes, and we need to split up the needs, of which there
are _at least_ 3:

 - a place to ask questions, even tough questions (most relevant for people
already part of the project; hopefully high enough value to most mozillians
that it will trump other things you could be doing —> shouldn’t have what feels
like “filler” content).

 - a place to find out what’s going on, what the opportunities for contribution
are, etc. (can be read-only, likely should be quick at first, needs to be
pan-timezone).

 - a place to get your bearings about the broader mozilla, understand the
breadth and depth of the effort (most relevant for new mozillians, but also
people looking up after working in the depths of a project for months — can be
read-only, doesn’t need to be quick)

I read Potch’s proposal as being mostly about the first bullet, and some of the
proposals (minutes, edited video posted for async viewing, etc.) as being about
the other bullets.

I think as long as we keep _a_ public thing that we could point to like Curtis
does that gives that overview + with the calls-to-participate with the smaller,
more actively open conversations that Christie mentions, we’ll be able to have
more substantive conversations among the existing project participants and
we’ll likely have higher attendance among those folks.
