Um, how does GCC farm saying "no thanks" to a gift of GPUs help the
production of free software to work with those GPUs?


I think the donation should be accepted, even if it's not used for a while by lack of free drivers and OpenCL stack. There is always a delay between hardware release and free drivers availability. Getting a brand new card when the OpenCL stack is ready could imply waiting for free drivers and delay even more GPU availability on the farm.
