Um, how does GCC farm saying "no thanks" to a gift of GPUs help the
production of free software to work with those GPUs?

Concerns over existing toolchains are one thing, but GCC farm is a
place where people working on toolchains have access to hardware they
don't personally own, so I really don't follow your logic here.
