I haven't checked every EU nation, but here are the trucks that Ford offers
in France.

The only pickup is the Ranger.

Ford's line is similar in the UK.

I expect that regulations have something to do with it, but it's also smart
business. Pickups aren't really a thing here. For hauling, mostly it's
vans and trailers.

A lower front end, mostly.

Also, lose the sharp body edges, reduce the weight, and maybe tame the wild-
west acceleration.

Obviously I wasn't there, but I doubt that the CT's designers gave any
thought at all to making a vehicle that would comply with EU safety regs.

They're not classified as cars in the US, either, are they?

Yeah, well, they're the right size for the folks who live here. :-)

The US's blunderbussiest vehicles aren't sold here because who would buy
them? There are city streets where they'd literally get stuck between
buildings.

Also: fuel cost. A 14mpg Ford F-350 would snarf up 55 US cents per mile in
fuel alone ($7.75/gallon).

But, as I said, Europeans don't buy those monsters. There are some large
vans, but they're commercial. EU big cars are what y'all there would call
midsize crossovers. A Tesla Model 3 is classified as a large car (D-
segment).

In France, 2024's best seller was the Renault Clio. It's a B-segment
supermini. It gets between 39 and 64 mpg, depending on the model. It's a
few inches longer than a Mini Cooper.
