Service availabiltiy makes something of an argument in favor of an EV from a
traditional major automaker, as long as the manufacturer has done due
diligence in training its dealership mechanics and stocking spare parts.

For example, here in France, if your Renault EV flakes out on a road trip,
service is never very far away. Renault has about 570 dealers. If you also
count the independent Renault garages, the number is close to 4500.

By comparison, if I'm counting right, Tesla has 29 dealers for all of
France. (IMO, for a relative upstart brand, that's not bad at all.)

FWIW, France is a little smaller in square area than Texas, which has 28
Tesla dealers. However, Texas has 224 Chevrolet locations and 225 for Ford.
Kia and Hyundai combined have 122 Texas locations. (Following all that?)

OTOH, in the US, Tesla will (sometimes?) send a tech to where you are.
