Hi Folks Isn’t a Tesla communication protocol adapter needed to operate your non-Tesla EV (like my Bolt) with the HVDC CCS to J3400(Nacs) physical adapter ? I don’t see how the adapter would work without a GM agreement with Tesla to translate the data to GMs CCS fast charging protocol.
Similarly I bought a few years ago a ChadeMo adapter ($400 from Tesla) that never worked well due to the incompatible data transfer to Electrify America fast chargers. The few times I tried it, I had to call Electrify America 800 number and have the technician remotely close the HV charge contactor to initiate charging.
