I'm not interested in that model, either. I'd much rather buy things up
front, without "strings" attached.
But, there are many people that either don't want to, or can't pay
up-front. People who would rather take the "no money down, easy monthly
payments" route.
And, it does provide a low-risk way to people to try an EV. It's a
contrast to what we have in the US now, where EVs are generally more
expensive than normal cars, and perceived as risky and less capable.
