EVSE owners could offer some kind of incentive to get you to use it.

What I think more likely: they'll come up with obnoxious ways to "monetize"
EVSEs. I'm thinking about the filling stations now putting video screens
and loudspeakers on their fuel pumps, so you can't escape the ads while you
fill the tank.
Ah, but bad solutions create the incentive for good solutions. In the
long run, I'd like to think that the good solutions are more likely to win.
If they make gas stations more annoying and expensive than EV charging,
people will gravitate toward EVs over time.
Remember the ads that showed gasoline being used to power things like
laptops and cell phones? They showed a roaring smoking tiny ICE
generator being used to power them. It was obviously absurd. Everyone
knows and accepts that batteries are the only sane way to power them.
Yet, we assume roaring smoking ICEs are the way to power cars, lawn
mowers, leaf blowers, etc. At some point, people will make the
connection. :-)
