First off - sorry for busting Jack's call. Second - When I created the requirements for my station controller I had to decide what frequency my KPA500, KAT500, and SteppIR should be commanded to. I decided they all should be commanded to the rig TX frequency even if the TX and RX were on different bands.
I have never regretted that choice. I cannot understand how anyone would accept that their tuner, amp , or antenna could be set to operate in a band different from transceiver TX frequency. I would estimate that at least 90% of my HF and 6 m operating is in split mode (WSJT-X and DX chasing using phone , CW, or WSJT-X). The risk of accidental cross band spilt is not insignificant and it could be destructive. I accept that some seldom, or never, work split and I suppose they can tolerate having their equipment follow RX frequency. 73, Andy, k3wyc ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
