Sometimes we type the wrong key; Andy busted my call (W6FB), but I know he
meant to type the right number.

As for the SteppIr discussion, I am curious. For those who control a SteppIR
from a K3 or K4, how well does it work in split mode? The best test would be
for a SteppIR that does 40 meters where split mode operation is common. Since
the K3 only sends the Rx frequency in the IF command, you should see “High SWR”
on transmit of the Tx frequency is far away. The test would be rx on something
like 7120, Tx on 7290. You could try the same test on 10 meters where you could
get farther apart frequency-wise, but split mode is seldom used on 10, except
for repeater operations.

One other observation - this issue would not happen with a K2, which sends the
VFO B frequency in the IF command while transmitting in split mode. In split
mode, the K2 receives on VFOA and transmits on VFOB. Life used to be so much
simpler...
