It arrived via the list with a ‘Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit' header
field, AKA ASCII, and contained no non-breaking spaces.  Nor could it as
they're not in ASCII.

In particular, given your later emails, the double space I typed which
you >-quoted remained as two spaces.
