Please spell it out. Just what are the "demands" of the coup? Censorship is here. Stallman is censored. If so, this could only be because his army of Free Software supporters have not been giving sufficient support. > The board he is on (his highest > authority now) is censored. Those unity tactics are a classic counterrevolutionary trope. No one > should be fooled by them. Voluntary collaboration however, matters a great > deal. We can't all work alone. We can't all "unite" either, it sacrifices > too much for sentimentality. > Revolutions have never been won by individuals working independently. Ideas, however, will spring up from individuals. Planning strategies and executing those strategies have always required teamwork. We need the corporate savvy of the Free Software equivalent of a Jim Whitehurst combined with the tactical manoeuvering capabilities of a Che Guevara to take back Free Software from the arms of Open Source. This will be much like forming a Rebel Alliance to counter as the Open Source Empire Strikes Back. We will need strategies to turn Free Software developers from the dark side! You need to Identify a team. > Money has become too important. We can't ignore it, but it needs to come > off the pedestal and be replaced by freedom again. > It's not a matter of money being on a "pedestal". That kind of sentiment sounds like it's coming from someone who enjoys the luxury of never having been in a position to know how lack of finances can impact your very ability to function. The first priority should be RMS' reinstatement as FSF President. He will be better positioned then to eventually search for a suitable successor to whom the mantle of FSF President should fall with the objective of preserving Free Software's ideals. There are ways to get "on the side that's winning". Recruit and build a team. Adrienne G. Thompson Principal and Chief Code Artist, GNU C-Graph -- Freedom - no pane, all gaiGN! References: 1.
