Based on your conversation with someone else on the list, I realized I
must read your reference (even if I had to read Debbie, which is not my
favorite).

Do you or her really think that all those terrible things that RMS did
are worse than lieing or simulating that you are important while taking
advantage of you, like the politicians do?  Sure, RMS like all of us has
errors.  The important thing is not being welcoming, but
nondiscriminatory.  The best is to prepare people for the real world,
instead of discriminating other people for expressing themselves. 
Diversity requieres accepting other people as they are and trying to
work with common objectives.  There is no need to force everyone into
participating the way the soft people want to build a movement.
