I found myself too in that situation, where I was forced to rank things that I don't consider suitable at all. For example, my first and second choice, I do mean it, ... my 3rd, not at all, however, it will count to the result as a "3rd" choice, artificially.

I went ahead and clarified my choices in the last text field, ... but not sure how much it will influence the result.
